University,' Brinke went on to earn a 'Masters Degree' in marine biology from the 'Scripps Institute of Oceanography' in La Jolla, CA. For a time, she worked as a scientist for the San Onofre Nuclear Power Station and, also, the National Marine Fisheries. Brinke has knowledge of seven different languages. She was briefly married to artist Dave Stevens, known for his creation The Rocketeer, which was adapted for the screen, by Disney, in 1991. Of course, Brinke posed for him many times. For a number of years, Brinke had a successful career as a model. Her print and commercial work soon led to becoming a leading actress in over 100 films, among them: 'Grandma's House', 'Haunting Fear', 'Mob Boss', 'Spirits', 'Delta Delta Die!' and 'Mommy 1 & 2.' She is also an accomplished dancer, has appeared in many music videos and she used to be in an all-female rock band, The Skirts. With an exceptional screen presence, Brinke projects an aura and class that is reminiscent of the stars of the 1930's and '40's. Yet she also has the range, depth and versatility to play very diverse roles.
Brinke has written several screenplays, like Teenage Exorcist (1991), as well as fiction and non-fiction articles for such genre publications as 'Weird Tales', 'Monsterland' and 'Femme Fatales.' Brinke had the honor of gracing 'Femme Fatales' magazines first ever cover. She's the inspiration, writer and publisher of a popular comic book series, "Brinke of Destruction." As a producer, Brinke has helmed and hosted 'Shock Cinema' and 'Something to Scream About', both documentaries about the horror film industry. Brinke is also the Co-Producer on a feature film called 'Dead Things'.
